It’s been a few months since I have let you guys know what’s going on with me and my missions trip to Uganda. So without further ado, here’s some of the details you may or may not be wanting!

1. I am no longer traveling to Uganda in December (obviously…) but instead going in June, the 3-14,  with the same group of people. Our trip conflicted with another ministry over there and it has been rescheduled for June. This is a great blessing in the fact that I have more time to get everything paid off and get all the materials I need for the trip!

2. I currently have several fundraisers in the works. I am working on setting up a fundraiser with Blue Rock Barbeque, as well as booking a room at my church to do a fundraising party with snacks and drinks, raffles, auctions, and more! (If you would like to donate a prize for the raffle or auction, please contact me via Facebook or email me at vampiressjade@hotmail.com ) I am also collecting recyclables!

General Updates:

Donations: I realized a few weeks ago that some people like to know all the specifics of what/where their money is going to. While I can’t give all those details to the people that want them, I can give them details on other things. So with that in mind, I have created a list of a few items that I need for my trip that you can pick from and purchase if you wish. If an item has a line through it, that item has already been taken care of.

  • Passport
  • Reusable water bottle with a filter in it. (Hard plastic, not soft squeeze)
  • Digital camera, preferably capable of both picture and video.
  • Transportation to Seattle, WA on June 1st
  • Ugandan Visa
  • $$$ for meals on layovers

Your continued prayer support is also quite welcome and appreciated!

Thank you for taking this journey with me.

Dear Friends and Family,                                                                             January 23, 2013

Winter is finally here, and the weather is quite chilly most days. I hope this letter finds you well. I am getting ready for a missions trip with Dollar For The Poor to Karuma, Uganda June 3- June 14, 2013. I can’t wait to see how God works in the lives of others and myself through this trip. When I was 12, I went on my first mission’s trip to a house in the bay area for teenage mothers that had been kicked out of their homes to serve the mothers and bond with them while also working on cleaning the house they were living in. As I was working and talking to them I learned that many of the girls were hurt by the lack of support from their family. As I heard some of the stories God touched my heart and told me that he wanted me in the missions field to help change lives.

While in Karuma, we will be building houses for the orphans in the village to stay in while they are attending school. We will also be doing medical/gospel outreach in the village, as well as running camps and activities for the children at the school.

I would like to ask you to partner with us in prayer. If you are willing, please pray for us in the following areas:

  • Preparation for our team and the hearts of the people in Karuma.
  • Safety in travel and being in a foreign country.
  • The village of Karuma, and the children who are our focus.
  • Opportunities to share Christ’s love and see others come to know him.
  • Funds to be provided.

Finally, if you would be willing to partner with me financially on our work in Karuma, Uganda, please make your tax deductible donation payable to Dollar For The Poor, with my name in the memo line. All donations can be sent to me at 7134 Via Corona, San Jose, Ca 95139, or handed to me or a member of my family. You can also send them directly to my trip director, at Dollar For The Poor, 9203 67th Ave E, Puyallup, WA 98371. The trip cost is $3,000.00 per person, starting with my trip deposit on January 1. The cost will include all of my training, flights, in-country transportation, lodging, food, and an African safari/Nile River boat tour! I hope to have all of my payments in by each deadline, making the trip paid off well before my departure.

“I thank my God every time I remember you, in all of my prayers for all of you. I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:3-5

God’s blessings,

Stacy Schildhauer

Hello all! I realize that it has been far too long since I posted something, and I apologize for that. I have been off in a world of trying to organize my mind so that I can get through my plans.

Most recently in my whirlwind, I just returned home a few days ago from Washington D.C., where I was providing child care for a few parents who were attending First Steps To Success, an amazing event lead by the phenomenal and wonderful Dani Johnson. Even though I was not able to attend the seminar, I was able to attend the Spiritual Equipping on Saturday night, and oh my goodness. It was incredible. I sincerely hope you will click on the link I provided and watch it, because it is pretty much life changing. So many lives were changed this past weekend and it makes my heart joyful! God is opening so many doors not only for me, but for my family and friends as well. In less than a year my life has done a huge 180. I used to hate life because I had no will to live and no vision or purpose. Do you want a total and radical change, and an unbridled joy for life? Then go plug into Dani’s trainings right this minute. No delays. It’s time for a change my friend.

Uganda update: I am still working on raising the funding for my trip. I have currently raised $445 in support. God has revealed some stuff that has been hindering me and I am dealing with those obstacles so that I can gather the funds for my trip to Uganda. I am so excited to get nearer and nearer to the departure date. I thank you for any and all support given thus far, and given in the future!

If you have any questions or comments, or just would like to talk, go ahead and get in touch with me 🙂 Have a blessed day!

Hello world! It’s been a bit since I updated, but have no fear for I am alive and well. 😛

I would love to hear what you guys have been up to! I don’t get much interaction on this blog…

Anyways, I think I’ll tell you what this post is about. 😛

As I’m sure you’ve figured out by now, I am prepping for a trip to Uganda in December with the awesome charity Dollar For The Poor! And as I’m sure I’ve mentioned somewhere, the trip is a neat little sum of $3,000.00 plus additional expenses for things like a visa and vaccines. I’m still in the process of sending out my support letters, but I also need to get a move on and start doing things to raise the funds for my trip. Here’s where you guys come in! I’ve been brainstorming for a few weeks on different fundraisers that I could do, but my problem is that many a fundraiser is designed for a group versus an individual. Here are some of the ideas I’ve come up with:

  • Hosting a swap meet: What this would be is I would rent out tables to people who wanted to sell their old things. So basically, I rent the table out to you, I charge a minuscule entrance fee for shoppers, and then perhaps a refreshments bar where people can purchase beverages and snacks. Kinda like a community flea market.
  • A car wash: This one needs no explaining, it’s a long time source of funds. But, I currently lack the man power to work a car wash.
  • Garage sale: Selling my own stuff 😛

Other than that, I really haven’t found too many viable fundraiser options for me to do currently. There are holiday ones that I could host but those aren’t much of an option until later in the year, and I need to have my payment paid in full by November.

So please, any help or ideas you could give me would be wonderful! Thank you and have an awesome night (:
